Top Tips
From getting out of bunkers, getting over lakes, or just how to improve your swing or sink more putts, if you’ve got a suggestion for a top tip, use the link below and I will add them to this page.
Here’s a few of my top tips!
Top Tip - don’t leave it too late to have your first lesson with a pro!
You may pick up bad habits that might be difficult to correct. If your parents can’t afford it, try to save up any pocket money for an individual lesson - even one is better than nothing, or join a group lesson if it works out cheaper. You will be glad in the long run that you know what you are doing from the start!
Top Tip - make sure you start entering competitions as soon as you can.
You get used to the slight nervousness and when you enter the one you really want to win, then you are not quite so nervous as you would have been! It was ages before I got the courage to enter any competitions because I was scared of doing really badly. When I went in for my first competition, I was SO nervous that I really messed up.
Top Tip - make sure you get yourself some decent wet weather gear and a good brolly!
I try to practice as often as I can - even if it’s really miserable weather. The more you practice, obviously the better you will get.
Top Tip - buy some Adidas deodorant!
Yes - I’m serious - get yourself some anti-persperant!. Not to make you smell nice, but the lid on this deodrant is the perfect size for marking up your ball with a line around the perimeter to help with putting aim and alignment. This is a much cheaper way than buying the real thing from the shops!
